Southern (France) Hospitality

Good friends. Good food. Great weather. That pretty much sums up our time in Vias, France. We stayed for five days in this small town, near Montpellier, at the family vacation home of one of Christina’s friends, Sebastian. Christina and Seb met during her time living in France after college. Seb’s siblings came along for the week and so did Emily and Emily who were also in France with Christina and Seb. Chris’s sister, Kara, and her boyfriend, Hassan were also there for two of the nights. It was great to see everyone and we can’t thank Seb and his family enough for hosting us!

We had a nice, relaxing week at the beach. We grilled out on the backyard patio, spent lazy afternoons by the beach and pool, went paddle boarding, and played plenty of drinking games.

One afternoon, we went and explored a nearby town, Pézenas. This is another quintessential, small town in Southern France with lots of shops and restaurants. Though it was a bit of a challenge for Christina to find a vegetarian meal, we ended up having a great dinner and some delicious gelato for dessert!

Our next stop is Bordeaux for some wine tasting and sightseeing before we head to Cognac to work on the goat farm!
